Random Stuff
Exactly what the title says. So, anything interesting happened lately? I've gotten myself into a different sort of RP recently, we get our characters to join a competition, representing different elements(multiple people of the same element are allowed) and fight for the prize. Sadly, applications are over so you guys can't really join.

Meh, I'm dating a girl, and I've gotten into Assasins Creed yet again.

Great to hear.
I've never played Assassin's Creed, it looks fun though. Is it difficult to play? How about the controls?

It's on a good sort of neutral pace between missons from two and up, the first one is labeled the more challenging for the group, as for controls, everything fits or you once you get used to the rooftops and getting around a city becomes faster.

I see. Well, if you like Assassin's Creed, have you tried out Dishonored? Never played it myself but it seems similar enough, gameplay wise anyway. Sneak around to complete your mission, kill people silently and don't get caught or just go in and kill everything in your way. Except for the fact that you have magic.

Re: Random Stuff
It is pretty good. The only thing I didn't like about it was the lack of save points in the missions. If you died you usually had to restart close to the beginning and everything all over again. And you have to explore a lot of the area before completing your mission so that you have enough money to purchase upgrades.

Re: Random Stuff
Ah, in Assassins Creed its sort of the same, but you respawn at the last checkpoint in your mission, which is pretty close to where ever the hell you should be, if you go around for missions before story missions you can rack up major cash for weapons or armor...I do it the hard way and do story missions first and the side quests later.

I have just downloaded Dark Souls. The game is amazing!

Re: Random Stuff
Do try it out if you have the opportunity. My advice though? Play it on console. The PC version has horrible key configurations and you can't change it. Console has better online capabilities as well due to various reasons.

I can't PC games that well, I'm too twitchy and my hands go everywhere with the mouse unless I'm sniping...console is my best option for any game

Great, get the game then. It's awesome. And you'll rage a lot if you hate dying. Really, I died twice in the tutorial and almost died a third time against the boss.

Re: Random Stuff
You died in tutorial? Wow. I don't mind dying as much as I hate screwing up on something I feel is simple...like in Assassins Creed 2, when you work on the tombs, you have to do free run puzzles/ time trails, if you miss a jump, your better off running to the switch and hitting it again than trying to get back to the last spot you were on.

Re: Random Stuff
Oh yes, in the tutorial for Dark Souls, you fight just one or two zombies before you reach bonfire( a checkpoint). Then you open this big great door, walk to the middle of it and... surprise! A gigantic boss monster appears and proceeds to beat the living daylights out of you.
I died for the first time against him, just as I saw that there was a door I could escape through in the corner of the room
So I went into the door, fought a couple of weak but armed zombies, tried to walk up a set of stairs... only to get hit by a wrecking ball that happened to roll DOWN the same set of stairs. I lived through it with only a sliver of HP left.
Then I noticed that the wrecking ball destroyed a part of a wall, I went into it, talked with a dude who was about to die, he gave me a key and a healing item(that lasts you through the entire game).
So I went up the stairs, killed more zombies, walked through a fog wall(portal) and almost fell off the edge of a foyer/balcony/whatever you call it. I didn't, then I looked down and saw the boss from earlier.
So I decided to stay on the platform above it and make a plan when the boss decided to fly up and DESTROY THE ENTIRE PLATFORM! That was my second death in the tutorial >.<.
I managed to kill the boss by jumping off the platform and performing a plunging attack on him after reaching that area a second time, the plunging attack took off about a quarter or so of his HP. I still nearly died fighting him.
So yeah, the game is extremely hard for first timers and it's a lot of fun too. That feeling of satisfaction when you beat the bastard that killed you so many times or when you clear a hard part(all parts) of the game.

The boss sounds like a dick...especially because he can totally wreck your ass at any point in the tutorial.

Oh please, that boss is one of the easier ones in the game.
Do note that this is also in a game where if you let your guard down, you can still be killed by just two or three random zombies or even rats and mosquitoes.

You can die by rats and mosquitoes? Rats I understand as I've seen dishonor end, but mosquitoes? Are they giant?

The mosquitoes are a little smaller than a normal crow I believe? Never really paid much attention to it, was usually too busy fighting for my life.

Re: Random Stuff
Honestly? The area where the mosquitoes are found at is a pain in general. A swamp that slows down your movements and poison you as you walk over it, the many hordes of mosquitoes and fire beetles, not to mention the toxic dart blowers. Ugh, I hate that area.
Sadly, that area is one of the better places to grind for a certain item that happens to be very useful.

*nods* Except this particular item I'm talking about is actually just the material used to upgrade your weapons....
