IT'S STUDY HALL!

Vashy hadn't really taken much notice of the boys absence, though the familiar spark of flame made her focus on his entry, this was not something she considered good. Not in a long shot, Vashy shut her eyes and took a deep breath, to leave or not to leave, that was the most important question in her mind at the moment. She shuffled closer to the window as if to give greater girth between her and the nuicenses of study hall. Vashy stared at the window, her eyes constantly flicked between the more obvious threats in the room. This is why she liked being alone.

Obnoxious whistling filled his ears, the sound of shoe on table came soon after. What a ruckus. Dylan thought to himself irritatedly, his cheerful tone from earlier missing in his mental voice. The source of the noise was probably Ethan, trying to rile him up and make the first move. Dylan sighed and lifted his head off the desk, giving up in his pursuit of sleep. He took a look around the room, Ethan was indeed walking on the desks, he was headed back to his group of friends.

The sound of plastic being crumpled from the left alerted him, apparently the girl had been eating a bag of chips while talking to him. He turned back to Ethan, best not to lose track of the pyromaniac with a grudge.

The girl's voice filled his head once again. Lisbeth... That's a pretty nice name. Dylan commented cheerfully. Best to keep himself happy and ignore Ethan's taunts, bad idea to fight him in a room filled with students, students with tons of different abilities. Dylan idly wondered if Lisbeth could hear every single one of his thoughts.

Ethan sat back down at his seat and continued speaking with his friends, they were still goofing off their powers, but he opened his journal and just started doodling, looking up every so often and talking with his friends. He looked back at Dylan and the girl he was talking to he chuckled a bit, and then looked back at what he was doodling until he looked out the windows. The boy smiled as he continued to doodle and then a friend said something that made him laugh.

Everything in the room seemed to calm down a bit. That made her feel a little better. She still wasn't going to let up on punishing this disgrace of a student. The boy she was communicating with was thinking freely a little bit behind their conversation. Yes, I am able to pick up on everything you're thinking. Don't worry about it too much, though, I'm used to some of the strange things people think of. Well... you can't really get used to some of that stuff. The things people did in the privacy of their own heads way pretty disturbing. Now, what is your name, and what is his name?

Maybe today wasn't going to end in someone being sent to the infirmary. Maybe. Vashy didn't like when people showed off the way the boy did, but he seemed to calm down as quickly as he acted up. Vashy scanned the room from her corner, not that she could actually see the whole room from her position it was just the only empty space whens she walked in.

Ethan finally sat down on his seat, continuing to speak with his friends, it was an improvement, Dylan supposed. Better than the brat standing up and playing with fire. He had opened up his journal and started writing in it, most likely doodling as most students liked to do. The disturbing thing was how Ethan looked back at him and chuckled.

Dylan was barely able to stop himself from physically raising an eyebrow, Lisbeth could listen to everything he thought about? Well that was interesting to say the least, he wasn't too worried though, there wasn't much to be embarrassed unless he started reminiscing. Well, my name's Dylan Reid, you can just stick to calling me Dylan. The pyromaniac's name is Ethan Browne. Dylan answered.

As you saw earlier, his ability is to manipulate fire, he can only use existing fire and can't generate it himself though. That's why he keeps that lighter with him. Dylan went on, deciding that Lisbeth might want to know more about the boy.

Ethan continued to doodle until he finished. He'd rip the page out, and face the drawing towards Dylan. It'd be a poor caricature of Dylan, the boy laughed as he lit the page on fire and held it in his hand as it disappeared into nothing. He'd close his journal and continue to mess around with his friends. Ethan didn't even look back at Dylan when he did that, but he was pretty sure Dylan saw it. I mean fire is rather hard to ignore.

A girl from across the room came over to the group and started talking to Ethan, giggling. Ethan however, wasn't very interested in the girl, but decided to be nice none-the-less. They continued to talk for a while, she was completely taking Ethan's attention.

She kept her eyes on the fire. She had a rather upset look on her face. Oh dear, he really is this terrible. She looked at the girl speaking to him. She wondered how somebody with such a negative personality could accumulate so many friends. Maybe they were all as bad as him. I want to do something. Right now. She wanted it to involve the girl he was talking to, but without getting the girl involved. She had a few petty little ideas, but they probably wouldn't turn out well. She wondered how well that boy could discern the voices of two different girl. Do you have anything on mind?

Fire play was something Vashy was going to have to get used to it seemed, the boy did something again. It was hard to ignore it when he started playing with his fire, then again it was always hard to ignore element users. Most seemed to enjoy showing off. Vashy glanced at the teacher that was supposed to be controlling todays study hall. Why wasn't he doing anything...

Dylan's expression went blank as Ethan ripped out the paper he had been doodling on and held it in his direction. On the paper was a poor imitation of his own face, Ethan laughed and burnt it to ashes before closing the journal and continued fooling around with his friends. Dylan turned his head away when a girl walked over to Ethan's group, a disgusted scowl making it's way onto his face when he heard giggling.

The next thing he noticed was that Lisbeth was upset, did she care about him? Or did she just hate seeing other students acting so idiotic in class? Dylan didn't know. Her voice filtered into his head again, she wanted to do something to Ethan? Sadly I don't have know we can do to him that won't end up in the two of us a fight and That, would be a disaster, considering the fact that the tables are made of wood. Dylan answered. I suppose we'll just have to wait for another opportunity, I'm not going to lose my cool over something as petty and childish as that. The one that launches the first attack is always the one that ends up with the heavier punishment.

Ethan was smiling as he and the girl talked. She started growing on him with every passing minute. When she finally said what her power was Ethan became extremely intrigued. Apparently her power was a form of fire manipulation that was rather different from his. She could conjure up fire with no problem and even project it, but it required much more concentration than his own fire manipulation which required a source, and outside of a certain technique required little to no concentration.

She frowned further and turned her head to look at Dylan. I don't think you quite understand my worth. I can communicate with people without them knowing the source. I can be a voice inside somebody's head. For all they know, I'm just a little bit of schizophrenia sneaking up on them. There won't be any way for the blame to be directed at you or me. Now, do you have any ideas. She was getting a little more serious. They were running out of time. She really needed to know what was going on over there. She started to focus on the fire boy, too. A little headache was necessary for anything to get done.

Lisbeth frowned and turned to look at him, did he insult her on accident? He hoped not, he liked talking to Lisbeth, it was quite fun. Her voice sounded out in his head again, apparently he hadn't thought about the implications of her ability enough, Dylan gave the mental equivalent of a groan and barely managed to stop himself from face palming. I am such an idiot... He thought to himself, forgetting that Lisbeth could hear all his thoughts.

Dylan shook his head to try and snap himself out of it, taking a look at Ethan again. The pyromaniac was talking to a girl with a big smile on his face, that wasn't very common. Lisbeth, could you try and find out why Ethan's so happy right now? Dylan asked curiously.

Ethan was usually a pretty happy person, just not around Dylan. Dylan brought out the text book douche bag in Ethan. Ethan continued to laugh with the girl, he and her finding out they had more in common than just their powers. Ethan looked around the room for a split second and then went back to talking with the girl. He couldn't help but smile around her, she was pretty much him in a female body, it wasn't often that he found someone he could connect with.

She gave a slight nod to Dylan's request. She stopped focusing on him completely and turned all of her attention to her target. He appeared to be infatuated with the girl. She was just him in a female body. That's a bit of a strange thought to be having. He really seemed into this girl. She could probably stop that. She doesn't actually like you. Was this mean, to act as somebody's conscience? Sure. But she wasn't exactly directly changing anything. It's not her fault if things go off the rails. She's only talking to you to fuck with you.

Dylan noticed Lisbeth nod at him from the corner of his eyes, then she focused her attention on Ethan. Dylan wondered how this would turn out. Ethan seemed to have developed a crush on the girl in front of him, if the kid hadn't been so much of a jerk to him Dylan would have felt bad about interrupting them. But that didn't matter, Ethan was indeed a colossal douche bag to him and he deserved what he was going to get.

Ethan was laughing when he heard, "She doesn't actually like you." Come from inside his head. His face changed slightly but Dylan wouldn't be able to see it the way he was facing. Ethan continued to try to have fun with the girl when he then heard, "She's only talking to you to fuck with you." Ethan looked around the room for the source of an actual voice thinking someone was talking to him. He was dissatisfied when he only saw Dylan looking at him.

Something didn't feel right, it felt off. Ethan looked toward a friend whose power was to be able to detect active powers. Ethan looked away again and eyed the girl in front of him. Ethan thought to himself, "Who are you?"

Ooh. This was getting interesting. The boy was responding, first with doubt, then with caution. He believed the voice. Now she just needed to come up with a cover story. It wouldn't make sense for his actual conscience to be speaking to him, and in such a different voice than it may have before made even less sense. A new burst of schizophrenia was probably out of the question. She could only think of one thing that might work. It sounded a little silly, but it was all she could come up with. I'm somebody you know in the future. I've come back in time to stop something terrible that might happen to you. Huh... maybe she watched a few too many movies. This might have gotten a little too silly. And, from this, the boy might just feel a sense of pride for making that girl feel bad. Sure, the boy would look dumb out of it, but the girl would be heartbroken. She wasn't sure if she should continue going through with this. She glanced over at Dylan with a more regretting look in her eyes.

Dylan struggled to keep his face blank when Ethan looked at him. It seemed as if Lisbeth was starting to mess with him, that wasn't what he asked for, Dylan had only wanted to find out what Ethan was so happy about. The pyromaniac turned to look at one of his friends that were sitting down close to him, Dylan couldn't remember what that one's ability was, he did however, know that the ability wasn't combat oriented like his and Ethan's. Dylan was a little worried that Ethan might ask his friend to interfere with Lisbeth's meddling, luckily, the pyromaniac just turned back to the girl in front of him without saying a word. From the corner of his eye, Dylan saw Lisbeth glance at him with a regretful look in her eyes. Dylan locked eyes with his new friend, if Lisbeth could be considered one, perhaps partner would be a better term to use with her.

It's too late to regret it now, Lisbeth. Dylan thought. Lisbeth probably wouldn't hear his thoughts, with her being focused on Ethan right now and all. The black haired teen turned his attention to the sides by the classroom to avoid suspicion if Ethan turned to look at them again. Huh, there was a rather short girl seated by the windows doing actual school work, how odd.

Ethan chuckled out loud when he heard the answer in his head. He then spoke out loud, "Or it's more likely you're someone in this room with a telepathic power." Ethan eyed around the room to gauge people's reactions, but it's very likely he wasn't looking at Lisbeth when he said that. Ethan stood up and chuckled again, "You'd think someone at this school would be more careful with their powers. There's a difference between a fire that can't even leave me, and making someone think they're insane."

Oh. Was he going to play that? There's no actual way to tell. She's had this tested, she just stimulates parts of the brain. There isn't much of a signal to pick up on. She didn't physically react. She just yawned and leaned back in her chair, shutting her eyes. Don't be ridiculous! This is critical! She wasn't really sure what else to say. She didn't really plan this out. She opened up her eyes and glared at him with an irritated look. She was just responding to him speaking something out loud to the whole room. Now sit down and stop acting silly. Or just keep talking, you're scaring her away anyway...

Yelling, really, Vashy glanced at the boy that decided to yell at the room. An unstable pyromaniac... yeap, she was feeling more unsure then befor. Vashy grabbed her books and sank down under her desk. In her head it was safer under here anyway. She focused on her paper again. Trying to ignore everyone again.

Dylan raised an eyebrow, was Ethan really going to shout to the entire classroom just to figure out who was messing with his head? He rolled his eyes, of course Ethan would. Dylan took a look around the classroom, people were giving the pyromaniac bewildered or irritated looks, the female student he had noticed doing school work was hiding under her desk.

"Oh sit down already Ethan. You're disturbing people that are trying to enjoy themselves over here." Dylan said in a bored tone, placing his elbow on the table and resting his head on his hand. It probably wasn't the best thing to do, but he really was getting sick of hearing Ethan's voice.

Ethan smirked as the voice went off in his head again. He thought to himself, "While that may be, you should learn to be more responsible with your powers." The boy looked up at the aforementioned friend and followed his eyes to where Lisbeth and Dylan were sitting, "Well, well, well. Has Dylan found himself a lady friend?" Ethan chuckled as he played with his lighter. Ethan quickly spoke up, "My friend here has a power, a power I find very useful. He knows instantly when a power is being used, he knows what the power is, and an approximate area that it's coming from. And seeing as I know Dylan's power, it would be rather easy to deduce that your power is telepathic in nature." He smirked as he sat back down at his desk.

Huh. The boy found her out. She wasn't really positive how he'd communicated with his friend so easily. She really wasn't sure how she didn't even pick up on the fact that he was doing it. She was in his head, she should be getting everything going through his mind. She decided not to react physically. She just shut her eyes again and feigned sleep. Good job, I guess? It was worth a shot. Anyway, have any dark secrets you want to talk about? That was usually a good line to make people start to think about their dark secrets, even without outwardly thinking about them. It's hard to resist thinking about things.
