Peace Interrupted

Demetrius teleported again. Judging by the sound of footsteps and leaves being stepped on behind him, the Artist had teleported right behind him too. Jake jumped up, using the momentum from his run to let him glide a few feet forward, then he stopped. Flapping his wings once to stabilize himself mid-air, Jake dropped down onto Demetrius, planting both of his feet into the Artist's back harshly.

The boy hit the ground, face first again, frustration hit him like a speed car. It was all to familiar, being face down in the dirt. He felt his muscles tense as he reached into his hoodie, removing a smoke bomb and primed it, leaving it on the ground. He teleported from under jake again and reappeared in the trees. The bomb then exploded, launching white smoke everywhere.

(I'm guessing that that bomb is just a smoke bomb?)

Jake smirked as Demetrius teleported away, suddenly, white smoke burst out from the Artist's former position. A smoke bomb, Jake realized. The half-dragon flew up, attempting to escape the smoke. Jake did not like the possibility of being sniped by the Artist while he was blind in the smoke, nor did he like having to rely on only smell and sound to move around. After reaching a certain altitude, above the high trees of the Perpetual Forest, Jake looked around, attempting to find Demetrius.

Demetrius dipped his fingers into ink, making the parts needed for sniper rifle. Once he was done and pushed everything into place, they connected like a child's puzzle. He picked it up slowly, then flicked his fingers over his shoulder, against the tree trunk, and withdrew a few rounds, about five. He turned on his prech, making sure the barrel snaked out from the branches, where he still could see Jake. Lining up the shot, he fired out two bullets, though they were hallow points, and were not AP rounds.

His ears picked up a certain sound, the sound of a gun firing. Jake growled, a deep guttural sound that he was sure was only possible due to his dragon ancestry. Jake dropped in altitude by a few feet, the bullets flew over his head. He glared at the trees where Demetrius was perched on, he couldn't use his fire while the Artist was there unless he wanted to risk starting a forest fire. Jake dived towards Demetrius, using his top speed this time, he wanted to be rid of that gun as quickly as possible.

Demetrius aimed carefully through the rifles scope, the shot wouldn't kill anybody like jake, so he made sure to position it right to his forehead. If Jake hit him, he would have to hit his final stage, and then Jake would really have to hand his ass to him to make sure he stayed down. 'Only got one more shot, lets see if I can commit' he thought. Then the artist fired the last round, pushing himself out of the tree with the recoil.

Demetrius had fired another bullet, it was flying straight at Jake's own face. At the Half-dragon's speed, Jake couldn't veer out of the way, he could however, use his gauntlet encased hand to cover his face. Doing just that, Jake felt the impact of the bullet against his head, his body jerked from the force and crashed into a tree, not really damaging him.

Demetrius landed on his back, the fall was quick but still knocked the wind out of him. "Ouch" he grunted as he shifted into sitting position. He looked over at Jake, and pulled his paper and pen, then began to sketch something. His body was alive with adrenaline, so he could make something worth while in an instant. The Artist stood up and reached into the page with both hands.

Jake grimaced as he pulled himself out of the tree, quickly catching Demetrius' scent, Jake jumped towards the artist. "That was a good shot." The half dragon grumbled to himself as he reached the soil. Quickly turning to Demetrius' direction, Jake went off in a sprint, his eyes quickly spotting the Artist pulling something from his sketch pad with both hands, Jake spat a fireball at him.

Demetrius glanced over and withdrew a shield and long sword. Maybe it was a good way to get hit, but he was trying to now. He used his shield to deflect the fireball into the sky, then ran at Jake. His plan was simple enough, get in close and fight like a demon.

Jake frowned at Demetrius, what was he planning? Getting in close range with someone with much higher physical capabilities than him was virtually suicide, even if he did have a weapon. Oh well, Jake wasn't going to complain. Stopping his sprint, Jake took a defensive stance as he awaited Demetrius' next attack. With his gauntlets he could defend against both weapons relatively safely. His skin would also be tough enough to prevent deep wounds unless he was left open and Demetrius could react quickly enough.

Demetrius jabbed up at Jakes torso, quickly,faster than he normally could without being on stage 3 of his seal. Jake could probably play defense until Demetrius tired out, but his seal was almost off, his body wouldn't even begin tire. He could win if he didn't finally get hit with blood loss before he could complete it, even though it seemed to finally stop bleeding.'if I win, I can control stage 4 better, if I get my ass kicked..well I can keep going!' Was the one thought left in his head.

Jake's eyes widened at the speed of the jab, it was faster than the Artist's usual movements, no matter, he was still faster and he could react in time. Stepping into the jab, Jake used his left arm to push the blade past his right side as the Artist jabbed, bringing his right arm up for a jab of his own aimed at Demetrius' solar plexus at the same time. With Jake so close to the Artist it would be awkward to use the shield.

Demetrius teleported just before the blow landed lefting a piece of paper in his place and reappeared behind Jakes back, bringing his blade down on his back. His body was working in overdrive, he could win. No he had to win, so he wasn't going to berserk anymore. "Come on!" He said.

Jake grunted as the Artist vanished and was replaced by a paper. Feeling the displacement of the air behind him, Jake quickly ducked and rolled forward whilst powering up his gauntlets. Quickly standing up after his roll, Jake spun around with a backhand, allowing a stream of flames fly towards Demetrius in a crescent.

Demetrius raised his shield in defense, the flames shifting around it like water around a stone. The Artist stepped closer to jake, feinting a strike at his torso then dropping to sweep his legs from under him. Just to keep the ball in his court, he pushed his new found speed into it.

Jake looked on as the Artist easily defended against his flames with a hint of annoyance in his eyes. His eyes narrowed slightly as Demetrius stepped closer to him. Mr A had taught him how to read and anticipate his enemies' attacks before his disappearance, Jake could see the Artist's plan. Jake decided to spring Demetrius' trap. Moving his hand to bat away the feinted strike, Demetrius dropped to the ground just as he had expected. Jake jumped forward, avoiding the sweep, and kicked at the Artist's chest.

Demetrius took the blow straight in the chest, his body locked up but then he hit stage 4. Berserk mode hit him like a ton of bricks. He flipped to his feet, raising his weapons, his eyes now were yellow. He flipped his blade once, then ran at Jake, using his increased speed. He slashed at Jakes torso qiuckly, like a riptide cleaving through the sea.

Flipping backwards using Demetrius' locked up body as a springboard, Jake landed on the ground several feet away. Jake looked up just in time to see the Artist's eyes flash yellow. Damn, he turned berserk. Jake gritted his teeth in annoyance, Demetrius probably fell into his next stage too. The Artist was approaching now, faster than before too. Jake quickly went into a defensive stance, carefully watching Demetrius run at him, the slash that followed swiftly caught in between both of Jake's gauntlet encased hands, the force behind the slash pushing Jake back slightly, leaving marks in the soil.

Demetrius smirked wildly, jerking back from Jakes grasp. He stepped forward again into a swift forward thrust. The berserk mode only pumped more adrenaline into his muscles, energy boiling up inside like hell fire. Power that rose and dropped with every movement, he could create anything he wanted, take a blow to his head, and still keep going! But he only wanted to win, to prove his power, to feel like he was king. That's what caused a group of villagers to take a killer ass whooping, that's why he was in Darks to begin with.

Jake's eyes widened as Demetrius broke from his grasp, he was getting stronger and faster. Quickly side stepping the Artist's forward thrust, leaving Demetrius off balance and moving forward, Jake's knee quickly shot up, aimed for Demetrius' stomach. Jake would have to end this quickly, no point in prolonging a fight with a berserker, that always ends up badly.

Demetrius took the knee in, his muscles of course, slackened. He stumbled slightly but righted his balance immediately, he shifted his grasp on the hilt of his sword, thrusting it back. The Artist probably would have been pull on his knees if he wasn't berserking or even felt that much pain to begin with. The battle would go on till he dropped.

Damn, Berserker Demetrius was more irritating to fight than the regular Artist. Maybe his drawings would come out as more crude if Jake managed to disarm him? Quickly pushing the blade to the side with his right palm, Jake moved in and jabbed at the Berserker's chest with speed and strength available only to the supernatural.
